FACULTY PHYSICIAN, CLINICIAN                                                         

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas seeks a faculty physician (Assistant or Associate Professor) with excellent clinical skills. Duties include direct patient care and clinical supervision of medical students and residents. Opportunities exist for inpatient care, obstetrics and educational or clinical research. Position requires an M.D. or D.O. degree, certification by the American Board of Family Medicine or equivalent qualifications in family medicine and eligibility for Texas medical licensure. RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas seeks a Residency Program Director (Associate Professor or Professor) who is a dynamic, experienced academic leader for our 8-8-8 program based in Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, TX. Founded in 1995, the residency has a community focus and provides excellent clinical care to underserved patients within the Parkland system. Our residency clinic is consistently rated as one of Parkland’s top performing clinics.

The successful candidate will be Board Certified and have or be eligible for a Texas License. Prior program director/associate program director experience is strongly preferred, as is experience with electronic health record implementation in the residency setting. Clinic management experience is an advantage. A record in research and scholarship is a bonus. An OB practice is possible, but not required.

BEHAVIORAL SCIENTIST POSITION

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas seeks a Full-time Behavioral Scientist for its Family Medicine Residency Program.  Join a vibrant growing program to develop and implement teaching in the Behavioral Science aspects of Family Medicine. The position would include approximately 30% time in direct patient care as part of the faculty’s patient care team and 70% time teaching family medicine residents in all settings. The ideal candidate would feel comfortable co-precepting in the Family Medicine resident clinic, teaching in a classroom setting, rounding weekly with the inpatient team and assisting with resident assessments. The successful candidate will work with a Residency Director who considers Behavioral Science training in Family Medicine to be central to a strong program and will have the opportunity to develop and implement new curricula. Experience in teaching or in collaborative practice as well as fluency in Spanish are pluses.
