The Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks to recruit a Vice-Chairman (Associate Professor or Professor) to assist the Chairman and provide departmental leadership. The responsibilities include:
- Drive fiscal aspects of all departmental missions, including budgeting and strategic financial planning for educational, research and clinical programs
- Oversee personnel issues concerning faculty, staff and residents
- Conduct faculty evaluation and promote career development, including facilitating individuals’ progress towards promotion and tenure and enhancing clinical and research productivity
- Develop new educational and research programs and improve the quality and impact of existing programs
- Increase department’s scholarly /research capacity
- Grow the clinical enterprise in support of the University’s Clinical Services Initiative
- Improve clinical service quality as measured by patient satisfaction (Press Ganey), provider productivity and clinical QI initiatives
- Ensure department’s compliance with University policies and procedures
- Advocate for the Department within the University
- Foster and facilitate joint educational, clinical and research programs with other departments within and beyond the University, and
- Develop and foster external relations with community and governmental organizations

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas seeks physician faculty members (Assistant or Associate Professor) with excellent clinical skills. Duties include direct patient care and clinical supervision of medical students and residents. Opportunities exist for inpatient care, obstetrics, and educational or clinical research.
