The Vitros 250
Collect blood using at least 22-gauge needle to avoid hemolysis. Serum can be obtained by allowing the blood to clot at room temperature for 30 minutes and then centrifuging at 4000 rpm for 10 minutes, or by using serum separator tubes that can be purchased from Becton Dickenson (order number 365956, vendor: J J Nita Burgoon Co.). Plasma that has been collected in EDTA tubes cannot be used for most tests.
40ul of dead volume plus 10ul for each analyte measured is required. Can be plasma or serum. Samples should be brought to room L5.108 on ice or frozen (note: ALT measurements from frozen samples are not reliable).

- Data and Sample Retrieval
The core will e-mail the results in pdf format to the investigator. At this time, the investigator will have the option of retrieving any leftover sample. It will be kept in -4°C for two weeks before being discarded.
