Applications will consist of the applicant’s CV, a statement of career goals and expectations and two letters of recommendation. Applicants may email their CV and statement of career goals immediately and have their letters of recommendation follow shortly afterward. Applicants are not required to identify a mentor prior to application; however, for those candidates who have already identified and contacted a faculty mentor, a brief description of the applicant’s research plan endorsed by the faculty mentor will also be required.
Applications will be received until January 2 of each year, and awards will commence on July 1 of the same year. The initial interview will be with Dr. Fiemu Nwariaku, the Program Director, followed by an interview with the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will review the criteria of each qualifying applicant and their dedication to an academic career. Dr. Fiemu Nwariaku will inform the most qualified three candidates of their acceptance into this fellowship program by April 15th of each year.
