UT Southwestern has a long and distinguished record in the research and treatment of burns, trauma and critical care and is honored to have this program funded by the National Institutes of Health. This fellowship program at UT Southwestern offers two years of research training with the objective of preparing fellows to become independent physician/   scientists.

Our original goal for this training program has not changed and remains to teach interested individuals to develop hypothesis-based research plans, enabling the trainees developments from basic science research to the clinical arena and leading to the development of novel and innovative therapeutic strategies in trauma, emergency surgery, and critical care.
