Stan Waddell is the Chief Information Security Officer for all of UT Southwestern Medical Center, including the University Hospitals, and Assistant Vice President of the Information Security Division of Information Resources. This division provides vital services to our users:

• Coordinates HIPAA-related policies and procedures
• Coordinates security issues with UT Southwestern departments
• Coordinates with state, UT System, and federal offices, as well as with our affiliated institutions
• Develops Information Security training materials
• Handles information security incident reporting
• Organizes and coordinates the UT Southwestern Emergency Response Team
• Oversees the development and implementation of required policies and procedures
• Oversees the risk assessment process
• Oversees vulnerability and penetration testing
• Serves as UT Southwestern's HIPAA Security Officer
