Personal Print Account
It is possible to print documents when logged into Student Workstations. The charge for black and white prints is currently $0.05 per page and $0.25 per page for color prints.
Payment is handled electronically through a personal print account. Funds may be added as needed. Initially $5.00 is automatically placed in the account with graduate students starting with a $50.00 balance.
To add more funds, visit the cashier's office on the first floor of the B Building. New funds may not be available for up to two hours. The cashier's office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please confirm the printing account is properly funded before printing.
Periodically the printers run out of paper and toner. Accounts will be charged for the print jobs even if problems occurred. For assistance in obtaining a refund, please e-mail or call (214-648-7600) the IR Call Center.
Checking Print Account Balance
- Log into a Student Workstation with a SouthwesternID and Password.
- Place the cursor over the dollar sign icon near the bottom right side of the screen. There is no need to select it.
- A window will open with the account balance information.
Printing in the Library
When printing to the printers located in the student workstation area of the library, printing costs are deducted from your account as described above. Student Support refills the toner and the library staff refills the paper for these printers.
If printing to any other printer in the library, the printing costs must be prepaid. Student IDs can be used as print payment cards as well as for photocopying if the scrub sticker is not on the bar code or magnetic strip. If the scrub sticker is on one of these areas, a print card must be obtained from the library. The card costs $1.00 and includes payment for 3 prints. Prints from the library printers cost $0.10 per page. The librarian can assist you with refilling paper and toner in these printers.
For assistance with printing on campus, please e-mail or call (214-648-7600) the IR Call Center.
