Student and Postdoc computing services are supported by computing fees.

SERVICE TO PERSONALLY-OWNED COMPUTERS

Students and Postdocs can have personally-owned computers serviced at no charge.  Services include diagnosing problems and loading software.  The Computer Services group is a certified Dell Service Provider enabling university technicians to diagnose and repair Dell computer hardware. Warranted parts can be ordered and replaced; however, Students and Postdocs must provide parts as required for computers that are not covered by Dell warranty.  For other manufacturer’s hardware, some minor parts replacements is possible depending on individual situation.

MANAGEMENT OF STUDENT WORKSTATIONS

Over 220 student workstations are also managed in the libraries, graduate carrels, medical school labs and the
UT Southwestern School of Health Professionals computer lab.
