Position Details
Experience in Radiological Scienc and NMR/MRI is highly preferred especially for MRI studies in clinical and/or preclinical settings.
Job Duties
1. Plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phases of one or more parts of research project.
2. Devises new approaches to research problems encountered: sets up, maintains, and modifies equipment and experiments.
3. Supervises and assists in collection and preparation of data specification analysis.
4. Analyzes all data collected during research and clinical trials.
5. Determines additional equipment required for research projects and ensures computability with existing machinery.
6. Designs, builds, and modifies measurement devices and equipment hardware used for data collection and analysis.
7. Writes and modifies computer specification programming of data collection and analysis.
8. Supervises installation and operation of equipment, provides technicians and/or machinists with clear, conscise drawings for equipment that is to be fabricated.
9. Assists in preparation and presentation of written proposals, reports, and manuscripts for publication as required.
10. Performs all other duties as directed or required

Assistant/Associate Professor
The Advanced Imaging Research Center (AIRC) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level - Research Track. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in chemistry, biochemistry or closely related field. The successful candidate should be a highly qualified chemist who wishes to develop an independent research program in synthesis, characterization, and biological application of molecular imaging agents (MR, PET, SPECT, hyperpolarized 13 C) or therapeutic agents (targeted drugs for cancer). The successful candidate should add to or complement existing faculty strengths in responsive MRI and PET agents. Candidates are expected to have outstanding technical knowledge of imaging theory and practice, proven synthetic skills, and a demonstrated ability to provide scientific input and assistance to collaborators working in a multidisciplinary basic and clinical research environment.
