Refractive surgery includes several different procedures that improve the focusing ability of the eye and reduce or eliminate a person’s dependency on glasses or contact lenses.

We offer the most advanced vision correction technology available today. As a result, we can tailor treatments for each patient’s individual needs.

The cornea is the clear, front part of the eye. It acts very much like the lens of a camera and focuses light to create an image on the retina, the film of the eye’s camera. In many cases the shape of the cornea and the eye are not perfect and the image that is projected to the retina is blurred or distorted. A person may be near-sighted (myopia), far-sighted (hyperopia) and have astigmatism.

Refractive procedures change the shape of the cornea so that images are more sharply focused on the retina. Refractive procedures include Intralase, laser-in-situ-keratomileusis or LASIK, laser epithelial keratomileusis or LASEK, radial keratotomy, photorefractive keratectomy or PRK,  conductive thermokeratoplasty or CK, and prescription inserts or INTACS.
