The Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer is a multi-disciplinary program responsible for the cancer care and cancer research conducted at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.  The Cancer Center builds on the outstanding educational and training programs at UT Southwestern by supporting and developing the next generation of cancer researchers and clinicians.  Recognition as a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated Comprehensive Cancer Center is a priority because the characteristics of an NCI-designated cancer center are those that will enable our patient care, research, and educational goals.  This mission and vision, then, were developed by the Cancer Center’s leadership in order to guide the further progression towards that goal.

Our Mission: To reduce the impact of cancer today and to work to eliminate the threat of cancer in Dallas, north Texas and the nation.

Our Vision: To become one of the nation's premier comprehensive cancer centers we will extend the outstanding discovery capabilities at UT Southwestern to human cancers and develop innovative programs for cancer treatment and cancer prevention and we will inspire and train the next generation of cancer scientists and clinicians.
