Moncrief Cancer Resources provides support services to cancer patients and their families in Tarrant County and surrounding areas. The majority of services provided by UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Moncrief Cancer Resources are provided free of charge to cancer patients and their families.

Many people diagnosed with cancer are focused on medical treatments but are not able to manage the emotional, nutritional, or physical impacts brought about by their condition. The cancer patient or caregiver may need assistance coping with treatment side effects or access to resources that address financial, social or workplace issues. Regardless of the patients care or concern, Moncrief welcomes the opportunity to provide education and support.

The staff conducts personal assessments of anyone with a cancer diagnosis in order to help identify problems and construct a plan to increase quality of life during cancer treatment. Additionally, we work to enhance the care provided to patients by physicians.

The Moncrief staff is comprised of licensed social workers, licensed and registered dietitians, nurse educators, genetic counselors, a pain management physician, a clinical psychologist, a medical bill consultant, and administrative personnel.

Moncrief works collaboratively with other community agencies to provide patients with the resources they need. Moncrief Cancer Resources is an affiliate of the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
