Media Technology is occasionally asked to consult on audiovisual equipment for departmental conference rooms or classrooms.  Media Technology can offer limited consulting to verify that a project is feasible.  The first hour of a consultation is free and $65 per hour thereafter.  While Media Technology offers consulting, the liability for projects is between the department and the vendor selected to do the installation.  While this page offers general information of what rooms typically require, it is not intended to address custom applications.  

Services NOT Handled by Media Technology

  • purchasing or receiving equipment
  • installing equipment
  • carrying warranties for installation or equipment
  • stocking replacement consumables such as projector lamps and cables
  • overseeing or supervising installation of equipment of awarded AV integrator

Considerations for All Installations

Your answers to the following questions help to define the primary use of a meeting room and the equipment needed:

  1. What will the room be primarily be used for?
  2. Is the room going to be setup auditorium or classroom style?
  3. Will the room need varying setup styles?  
  4. Will the facility have a lectern as the primary focal point for presentations?
  5. Should the controls for the AV equipment be installed in the lectern or in the wall?
  6. Will video conferencing or digital meeting recording be done in this facility?
