Fellows participate in data acquisition, storage, and retrieval (Medical Informatics) in accordance with HIPAA including the routine use of hospital information system (HIS), database of patient demographic data, laboratory information system (LIS) databases of patients’ clinical and anatomic pathology test results and inter-hospital on-line access computer information system (OACIS) containing an electronic medical record of all patients registered at any of the four medical treatment facilities that constitute the UTSWMC.
