USMLE Preparation

The Office of Medical Education (OME) in collaboration with basic sciences course directors, coordinates a comprehensive USMLE:S1 review course for the benefit of all interested students.  This review course, which is free-of-charge, is open only to students currently enrolled at UT Southwestern School of Medicine. The course is offered in the spring and runs for three weeks beginning on the Monday following the Pharmacology final exam. Click Here to see what is covered in the review course.

Prior to the review course, the OME also offers free planning seminars to students who are preparing to take the USMLE:S1.  These seminars cover study methods and techniques, time management skills and test taking tips, as well as providing answers to questions regarding the administration of the exam and other logistics.

The OME also offers individual advising/mentoring assistance for students preparing to take either the USMLE:S1 or USMLE:S2.  This assistance is set up directly between the OME and the interested party.  Please contact Dr. Al Hesser or Carol Wortham at x89590 if you are interested in further information regarding USMLE-related assistance.
