The student body at UT Southwestern is composed of students with many interests and talents. These attributes often lead individual students to engage in activities far beyond the core elements of their curriculum. To recognize these students and their achievements,  'Distinctions' have been created in targeted areas that require completion of specific benchmarks. To date, two such Distinctions have been created and approved by the Faculty Council: the MD, with Distinction in Research and the  Distinction in Health Policy.
