Medical Knowledge

  1. Objectives
    1. Understand current basic immunology and examine its application to clinical medicine
    2. Understand classic or common immunological disorders
  2. Plan
    1. Review the pathology “abnormal results” computer printouts daily, check for discrepant results
    2. Weekly Humoral Case Discussion (Present one or two clinical cases selected from the daily review cases. Highlight how the lab test(s) helped (or did not help) the resolution of the case)
    3. Daily reading of literature and discussion with faculty at rounds
    4. Required attendance:
      1. Daily Immunology rounds
      2. Weekly Internal Medicine Grand Rounds
      3. Clinical Pathology Lecture Series
      4. Update in Pathophysiology Lecture Series
      5. Weekly CP Rounds
  3. Supervision / Assessment
    1. Methods of Assessment
      1. Observation by the pathologists and lab manager
      2. End-of-Rotation Evaluation
