OVERVIEW
During the third or fourth year of training, residents rotate through the Dallas VA Medical Center where they participate in a complete range of AP services, including surgical pathology, autopsy pathology and fine needle aspiration cytology. There is an emphasis on gastrointestinal pathology and neoplasia, which reflects the particular expertise of the VA Medical Center faculty. The added responsibilities given to the resident on this senior rotation make this an important maturational experience. Regularly scheduled anatomic and cytology teaching conferences complement the learning experience.
