  • Application Receipt Date(s): Standard receipt dates apply
  • The purpose of this announcement is to stimulate the development of innovative cancer prevention and therapy clinical trials with or without laboratory correlative studies, and to support innovative correlative laboratory studies retrospectively and prospectively linked to therapeutic/preventive clinical trials.
In vivo Cancer Imaging Exploratory/Developmental Grants (R21) - NCI
  • Program Announcement Number PA-06-371: http://grants1.nih.gov/grants/guide/PA-files/PA-06-371.html
  • Application Receipt Date(s): Standard receipt dates apply
  • The Cancer Imaging Program (CIP) of the Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD) solicits exploratory/developmental applications that articulate high risk and/or high impact research focused on in vivo cancer imaging for detection, diagnosis, and monitoring of response to therapy.
Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research - NIH
  • Program Announcement PA-05-015: http://grants1.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-05-015.html
  • Application Receipt Date(s): Applications can be received at any time
  • Principal Investigators holding specific types of NIH research grants are eligible for administrative supplements to improve the diversity of the research workforce by supporting and recruiting students, post-doctorates, and eligible investigators from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented minorities.

1. The R01 (Research Project Grants) is an award made to support a discrete, specified, circumscribed project to be performed by the named investigator(s) in an area representing the investigator's specific interest and competencies.

2. The R03 (Small Grants) is an award made to support pilot or feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; or, development of new research technology.

3. The R21 (Exploratory/Developmental Research Grants) is an award intended to encourage exploratory/developmental research projects by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of development.
