Scientific innovations are altering clinical research and practice in a profound way at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. The special mission of a matrix cancer center is to bring new knowledge and technology into the fight against cancer. This requires fostering multidisciplinary collaborations and increasing the cancer focus of premiere investigators in basic science, translational, and clinical research. Working in a collaborative environment these groups share new knowledge and core resources. Integrating all three of these disciplines to form a seamless system of research and care is crucial to our mission at the Simmons Cancer Center.

 Scientific Research Programs
Diverse scientific research teams collaborate on ground-breaking discoveries that impact our basic understanding of cancer and lead to advancements in clinical care.

  Disease Oriented Teams
Ten multidisciplinary teams of cancer specialists, organized around major types of cancer, offer patients a seamless, integrated program including novel treatments and new discoveries.

Significant investment in leading researchers and state of the art technology provide the tools needed to be at the forefront of research and clinical care.
