Investigational Drug Service

Investigational Drug Services are provided by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who assist principal investigators with the pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials. The IDS is available in Aston Ambulatory Care Center, Children's Medical Center of Dallas, Parkland Memorial Hospital, St. Paul University Hospital and Zale Lipshy University Hospital. These services are available to clinical investigators in all areas of research involving medications or devices. When appropriate, the IDS can counsel subjects about their medications, aid in promoting protocol adherence and support data collection or protocol development. The IDS maintains a complete copy of the protocol for each study with which it is involved and is available for consultation between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
