| 3. |
Drugs will be dispensed by one of two means
a.Pyxis dispensing machines located on the North (NG2.902) or South (L4.135) campus, or
b.The Aston 8th floor veterinary pharmacy
The pharmacy will be available for access or help Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at 89224. The dispensing machines will be available 24 hours a day Monday-Friday provided your request for a specific drug has been approved for dispensing by the pharmacy.

Users of the automated dispensing system must be approved and trained prior to requesting drugs. Training will be provided by the pharmacy staff. Each laboratory will need to identify a superuser and up to 3 requestors. These individuals will require training to operate the machines. Please email Traci at traci.bates@utsouthwestern.edu the name of your laboratory superuser. There will be a $50 fee for maintenance/dispensing of drug inventory. Each laboratory using controlled substances will be assessed this fee monthly regardless of the number of protocols or the amount of controlled substance drug utilized. The pharmacy will inventory the current supply of controlled substances in the lab and allow you to retain a month’s supply based upon anticipated need. The remainder will be retained by the pharmacy and the lab will be credited with the amount. |
