Cirrhosis low power Cellular responses to injury Fluorescent stellate cell

A striking difference between normal liver and fibrotic or cirrhotic liver is the amount and type of extra-cellular matrix. One key to understanding the abnormal accumulation of extra-cellular matrix comes from examination of its source, the activated stellate cell. Thus, a major effort of the Rockey lab is focused on generating new knowledge about stellate cells and their functions.
