Research:
To conduct basic and translational research on the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular response to ionizing radiation, focusing on critical cellular responses that include DNA repair, cell proliferation and inflammation. By understanding the mechanisms of tumor resistance to radiation and chemotherapy we are able to translate our findings to develop better treatments for cancer patients.

Teaching:
To provide high quality education and instruction in molecular radiation biology to graduate and medical students, residents and postdoctoral fellows.
