We are pleased to announce the availability of many new services to help physicians care for women with complex obstetrical and gynecological problems. A complete overview of these services can be found on this web site. Let me highlight a few examples:
- A maternal transport system has been established at UT Southwestern University Hospital-St Paul, where the Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units have undergone a complete renovation. With a 32-bed, level III NICU on site and Children's Medical Center on campus, we have the resources and expertise at UT Southwestern to manage virtually any perinatal complication. Whether you simply need a telephone consult or a complete transfer of a patient's care, we are available to assist you.
- Our gynecologic oncology practice has moved to the Simmon's Comprehensive Cancer Center located on the UT Southwestern campus. Within this phenomenal facility, members of our faculty provide state-of-the-art care for women with known or suspected malignancies. In addition to conventional therapies, our patients have access to experimental treatment protocols developed by the National Cancer Institute's Gynecologic Oncology Group.
- We welcome referral of women with complex or refractory gynecological problems. Our growing faculty now include a number of specialists in urogynecology and reproductive endocrinology as well as gynecologists with special expertise in minimally invasive surgery. The Lowe Foundation Center for Women's Preventative Health Care offers an integrated approach to health care for peri- and postmenopausal women.
Please take a moment to review our web site for a more complete overview of the services we now provide. I especially call your attention to Contacting a Physician and Referring a Patient. Please know that we are striving to become a valuable referral resource for you and look forward to the opportunity to serve you and your patients.
