The CTRC Research Participant Advocate (RPA) is available to assist in protecting the safety and confidentiality of the human subjects who volunteer for clinical studies.  The RPA is a resource for potential research volunteers, and a liaison and consultant to research teams.

The RPA can provide education and/or assistance on issues relating to human subject protection including the following:

  • Informed consent forms and process
  • Data and safety monitoring plans and boards
  • Participant safety
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Regulatory statutes regarding human subjects
  • Adverse events
