Patient and Family Education

The diagnosis of cancer can open up a world of the unknown. The staff at Moncrief Cancer Resources believes that every person affected by cancer should have the opportunity to obtain current and accurate information about cancer in a way that they can understand. Becoming well informed about their disease, treatment and side effects enables patients to be active participants in their care. Disease specific information is available in our Patient Resource Room and includes books, pamphlets and DVD's.

Complementary educational programs are offered to patients, family members and caregivers where they may attend topics of particular relevance to their situations.

Health Care Professional Education

In collaboration with UT Southwestern Medical Center, Office of Continuing Education medical education programs are offered on-site at Moncrief Cancer Resources in Fort Worth. Programs offer CME credit that can be applied toward medical and allied health educational requirements.

Current, clinically relevant courses are offered to enhance the dissemination of research knowledge and to ensure that clinicians have current information available to provide the best medical care.

The faculty includes board certified physicians in specialties such as medical oncology, genetics, radiation oncology and surgery.

These programs serve a multi-disciplinary audience and include physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians and allied health professionals.
