Programs and Support Services

The majority of programs and support services are provided at no cost to those who are currently dealing with cancer-related issues. This includes not only the person with the diagnosis, but the caregiver of someone with cancer.
Moncrief offers a full spectrum of cancer support programs. The patient or caregiver is encouraged to explore the array of services available to determine their specific needs.

Social Services
- Our licensed oncology social workers have been professionally trained to assist patient and families in their adjustment to a cancer diagnosis
- Following a patient assessment, the social worker is able to determine the areas of concern that may be preventing the patient from effectively coping with their disease
Nutritional Services
- Our licensed and registered dietitians perform nutrition screening and counseling
- The dietitian provides nutrition education, financial assistance for dietary supplements and customized eating plans to reduce weight loss and ease side effects of treatment
Medical Bill Advocate
- Our financial advocate assists cancer patients with the management of their medical bills
- Patients can bring statements and explanation of benefits for personal guidance through the process of understanding and resolving the medical bills
Cancer Information and Referral Services
- Provides patients and families with information on cancer prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship
- Facilitates access to clinical trials
- Offers patient education programs on cancer-related topics
Genetic Counseling
- We offer a genetic cancer risk assessment service
- By identifying high-risk families, we can help them understand their risk of developing cancer as well as their options for prevention, early detection and treatment
Transportation
- The Moncrief van provides free transportation to cancer patients undergoing treatment
- The service area is for patients who live in Tarrant County outside Loop 820
- 2 business days are required to process a transportation request
Psychological Counseling
- Individual counseling sessions with a clinical psychologist are available free of charge to cancer patients undergoing treatment, their family members and caregivers
Mobile Mammography Screening
- Mobile mammography screenings are offered in Tarrant and surrounding areas
Community Outreach
- We work collaboratively with other cancer service organizations to provide cancer screenings, health fairs, and cancer awareness events
- We welcome the opportunity to speak to your organization about our programs and services
Support Groups
