Our research is focused on the control of cytoskeletal organization, especially how the centrosome and its molecular components function to polarize the cell and make an active microtubule organizing center. Additionally, how centrosome duplication is regulated with the cell cycle is being investigated. Centrosomin, a key protein in centrosome structure and function, is required for microtubule and actin organizing activities at the centrosome. Centrosomin's molecular functions are being investigated through genetic and biochemical approaches.
