When to request study closure
There are two different times/reasons to close a study to SHUR review
- If a study is being closed with the IRB, notification must be sent to the SHUR committee.
- If a study is closed to enrollment and all participants have received all radiographic exams, the study can be closed to SHUR review and still remain open with the IRB.
How to close a study
A study can be closed anytime during the review cycle; it does not have to wait till the annual review. To close a study to SHUR review, choose one of the following methods:
- Email a request for study closure to the SHUR liaison. Please include the study title, PI name, IRB #, RSC #, and reason for closure (Closed by sponsor, Study closed to enrollment and all participants received all radiographic exams, …)
- Submit a RSF-023; in the comments section state the request for closure and the reason for closure
