At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

I.  Describe how federal regulations for clinical research do or do not apply to each topic area in the course.

2.  Distinguish between consensus and controversy within a topic area, for current U.S. clinical research practice.

3.  Identify similar or paradigmatic ethics issues in their own research programs.

4.  Identify appropriate resources, services, and people who can assist in resolving clinical research ethics issues.

5.  Meet the objectives for the individual topic areas described in the syllabus/web site.
