UT Southwestern’s clinical and research programs for Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders was established to provide our patients with some of the most advanced treatments available in the United States and around the world. Our physicians have extensive experience with patients suffering from Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, myasthenia gravis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), tremor disorders, tic disorders, dystonia and other movement disorders.

We provide our patients with extensive examination and treatment facilities, including an advanced neurophysiology lab that offers state-of-the-art nerve conduction analysis as well as advanced electromyography (EMG) and electroencephalography (EEG) tests. Our pediatric neurology patients also benefit from our specialized neurophysiology examinations and treatments dedicated to assisting children who suffer from movement disorders.

We are dedicated to delivering the most advanced and compassionate medical care available for our patients who are suffering from movement disorders. In addition, our specialists lead extensive research programs that investigate the genetic and other contributing factors that lead to the development of movement disorders.

UT Southwestern’s research activities receive funding from a variety of prestigious organizations, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA), the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) and the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is dedicated to accelerating and expanding the focus of some of the world’s most promising research on Parkinson’s Disease.
