Residency Overview
The resident training program at UT Southwestern provides an outstanding residency experience with an operative volume that is substantially higher than average. The program seeks to finish residents who are competitive for a wide variety of fellowship programs and careers in academic urology and qualified to practice urology as leaders in their respective communities.
Since 1984:
Six of our residents have launched careers by successfully competing for American Foundation for Urologic Disease Scholarships, the premier pathway for academic urologists.
Overall, 12 residents have achieved full-time academic positions.
Two prior residents currently hold chairman positions at prestigious institutions.
In the last five years, one-third of our residents have obtained fellowship positions.
