Stipend 

The yearly stipend is based on the number of years of postgraduate training, which for most fellows corresponds to PGY-4, PGY-5 and PGY-6.  

The 2009-2010 Stipends:

  • PGY-4     $53,950
  • PGY-5     $56,102
  • PGY-6     $58,375
  • PGY-7     $60,475

All fellows have their stipend from Parkland Memorial Hospital. Benefits are described at PHHS House Staff Benefits at a Glance

  • Yearly in-training examination in neonatal-perinatal medicine (American Board of Pediatrics)

The program supports fellows' research and encourages them to present their research at national meetings. The department supports trips to national meetings for fellows who have an original presentation.
