The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine currently consists of 16 neonatologist and 7 pediatric faculty and is internationally recognized with wide areas of interest in both basic and clinical research.  We are a part of the NICHD Neonatal Network and also work closely with the Division of Pulmonary & Vascular Biology.  We have an outstanding training program and provide excellent clinical care at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems and Children's Medical Center of Dallas.  Parkland has more than 16,000 births per year and 1,300 NICU admissions per year. The Follow-up Clinic assures primary care and follow-up to more than 90% of very-low-birth-weight infants and other high-risk neonates and participates in the follow-up of neonates associated with studies within the NICHD Neonatal Network and the National Perinatal Project with the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology.  Pediatric faculty in the Division provide comprehensive newborn care and actively participate in research and teaching. The NICU at Children’s Medical Center serves as a surgical and medical referral center for neonates in North Texas and offers a variety of clinical, academic and administrative opportunities for candidates at all stages of their careers.  Must be board certified in Pediatrics and board eligible or certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with academic credentials.
