General Academic Pediatric Faculty Positions


Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking outstanding individuals for clinician-educator and clinician-scholar faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor level for the General Pediatrics Division at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

As Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor, you would join the Adolescent/Young Adult Service (AYA) Team.  We are especially interested in applicants with interests and/or experience in teaching and in applicants with a strong research training background who are interested in conducting research on adolescent issues in health services, public health, or clinical research.  Clinician-educator faculty will have ample opportunities to teach residents and medical students.  Clinician-scholar faculty will be provided with protected time for research and career development, along with outstanding opportunities for teaching and clinical care.   Candidates must have formal research training (either through an adolescent medicine fellowship, Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program fellowship, or equivalent training), and have a dedication to academic excellence.  Must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with academic credentials.

Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking outstanding individuals at the Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor level in Child Abuse for the General Pediatrics Division at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

As Assistant/Associate Professor, you would join the Referral and Evaluation of At-Risk Children (REACH) Team.  Candidates can expect an opportunity for a well-balanced career in teaching, research, and clinical medicine.  Fellowship training in Child Abuse Pediatrics is preferred.  Applicants with a strong interest and experience in Child Abuse will also be considered.  Must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with academic credentials.

Associate Director of Clinical Services, Division of General Pediatrics

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking an outstanding individual at the Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as Associate Director of Clinical Services for the General Pediatrics Division at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

As Associate Director, you will work closely and report to the Division Director in coordinating clinical programs and will have significant opportunities for independence and leadership within the division, recruitment of clinical faculty, teaching, and developing other academic pursuits, such as research or advocacy.  Clinical programs include the resident continuity clinics, outpatient clinics, the child abuse and neglect program, the hospitalist program, and the adolescent medicine program.  Must be board eligible or certified in General Pediatrics.  Bilingual skills (Spanish) would be advantageous.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with academic credentials.

As Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor, you will be responsible for attending on both in-patient and ambulatory services, where you will supervise and teach residents from the categorical pediatric residency training program and students from UT Southwestern Medical School.  Candidates should have expertise in General Pediatrics.  Clinical Scholar candidates seeking protected research time should have fellowship training or equivalent research experience.  Must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with academic credentials.

Hospitalist Medicine Faculty Positions


Instructor or Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking outstanding individuals at the Instructor or Assistant/Associate Professor level to join the Hospitalist Medicine Faculty in the General Pediatrics Division at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

As Instructor or Assistant/Associate Professor, you will be responsible for providing clinical services at Children’s Medical Center and for attending on in-patient hospitalist services.  You will also supervise and teach residents from the categorical pediatric residency training program and students from UT Southwestern Medical School.  Must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with academic credentials.
