The division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is committed to providing quality medical education at all levels: Medical Students, Residents, Fellows, and continuing medical education for general pediatricians in North Texas and the surrounding areas.
Pediatric Hematology-Oncology was one of the first divisions within the department of Pediatrics to name a full-time faculty education coordinator, responsible for overseeing the division's education programs.
Current educational programs include:
- "Practical Pediatric Hematology and Oncology an annual CME course, held every October
- Four (4) week educational curriculum for Residents and Medical Students (offered monthly on the inpatient pediatric hematology-oncology service)
- Several regular scheduled conferences:
- Weekly Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Research Seminar (Grand Rounds)
- Weekly Tumor Board
- Monthly Hemoglobin Electrophoresis Conference
- Weekly Hemostasis Laboratory Conference
- Weekly Fellow Conference
