Radiology Postgraduate Education

Radiology Update February 28-March 1, 2008

Visiting Fellowships

Visiting Fellowships of one or more weeks are available to practicing radiologists.
Update your knowledge in:

Body Imaging-CT and Ultrasound

Faculty

  • Anthony Setiawan, M.D.  Associate Professor of Radiology
  • Rebecca Evans, M.D., Assistant Professor of Radiology
  • Jeffrey C. Pruitt, M.D. Assistant Professor of Radiology
  • John Mang, M.D., Assistant Professor of Radiology
  • Warren McFarland, M.D., Assistant Professor of Radiology

Mini-fellowships of one or more weeks are available to practicing Radiologists.  The program includes attending and auditing all case read-outs on inpatients and outpatients, approximately 40-60 body CT cases per day.  These sessions are held throughout the day.   In addition, there are two regularly scheduled conferences every day, at which faculty discuss specific topics in clinical imaging.  Ample opportunity for one on one instruction is integrated into the daily schedule.

The tuition is $1500 for the first week and $1000 for subsequent weeks, made payable to UT  Radiology CME.

If you are interested in participating in the Body Imaging Mini-fellowship program and wish to apply for a place, please contact:

Dolly Christensen, Radiology  Education Coordinator

Mammography Mini-Fellowship

Visiting fellowships for practicing radiologists are available for one or two week sessions with no more than two attendees per week. Because fellowships are contingent on faculty availability, interested physicians should arrange for their preferred week as far in advance as possible to allow for maximum program availability.

Faculty:

  • Michael J. Ulissey, M.D.,
    Assistant Professor of Radiology,
    Director of Breast Imaging
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas
  • Lee  R. Radford, M.D.,
    Assistant Professor of Radiology
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas

This tutorial will provide the 240 cases (or more) required  for MQSA requalification during a five- day visit.  Attendees can elect to stay for added weeks to review additional cases if they wish.  Each week provides 36 hours of Category II credit.  A certificate stating the number of cases reviewed under supervision will be issued at the end of the week.

The Parkland Hospital Breast Imaging division performs an average 300 screening mammograms per week.  Diagnostic evaluations number about 25 per day; Interventional procedures average three to five per day.   Breast ultrasounds total about 15 per day.

The tuition for the mini-fellowship is $1500 for Week One and $1000 for additional weeks.

We can assist with suggestions for hotels convenient to the campus which provide a corporate rate to attendees as well as shuttle service to and from the medical center.
