T2 Research

T2 Research is the second phase of the translation process and builds on the clinical efficacy work conducted in the first phase of the translation process (T1). It assesses the value of application for health practice leading to the development of evidence-based guidelines. Research moves to Phase III clinical trials, observational studies, evidence creation, and guidelines development.

T2 Research can:

• Establish clinical efficacy
• Yield knowledge about safety of interventions in controlled settings
• Identify knowledge gaps (e.g., benefits, costs, safety)
• Be used in evidence-based processes
