Tracking & Evaluation

The systematic evaluation of UT Southwestern Center for Translational Medicine programs is critical to ensure the effectiveness of program actions. Evaluation results allow those involved in program implementation to assess the progress, determine the present value of program components, and plan future directions. Evaluation efforts are determined by the principles and aims according to which programs are implemented. The results will ultimately show the extent to which programs successfully followed principles and met their aims, thereby pointing a path toward the future which, if followed, will increase the probability of success of actions.

The purpose of the Tracking and Evaluation Program is to provide critical evaluation and tracking information to the leadership of the Center for Translational Medicine to assess whether the Center for Translational Medicine is meeting its goal to translate basic scientific discoveries into therapies that improve human health. A continuous evaluation and tracking feedback loop will be created to assess success at each stage of implementation and allow Center for Translational Medicine leadership to determine whether they are on track or whether changes need to be made. This feedback loop will assist the leadership with quality control at each step of implementation. Measurable progress toward Center for Translational Medicine overall and program specific aims will be defined and evaluated.
