UT Dallas Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science

The University of Texas at Dallas' Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science is the most rapidly growing engineering school in the U.S. and is poised for further growth as a result of a new $300 million initiative involving the State of Texas, the University of Texas System, and Texas Instruments.

The school has just completed construction of a 200,000-square- foot research center, and it is implementing specific plans for the development of interdisciplinary programs in medicine, molecular biology, chemistry, and physics, and the recruitment of nearly 25 new interdisciplinary faculty members. Many of these interdisciplinary initiatives target UT Southwestern, and the two schools have recently launched a joint collaborative studies award program to promote novel translational research.

Numerous collaborations with UT Southwestern have already been formed, including those involving information and data management systems, optical networking, speech processing, and nanoparticles as well as artificial intelligence, network security, biomedical image processing, and medical planning algorithms.
