Citing Support from UT-STAR
NIH Policy on Citations of Grant Support:
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires that investigators who use UT-STAR services (e.g. consulting services) or resources (Clinical and Translational Research Center) or receive funding through UT-STAR (e.g., Pilot Grant Award, KL2 Mentored Career Development Program) acknowledge that support in all publications, presentations, and posters.
Scenario 1
- I used UT-STAR facilities or services (e.g., the Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC) or core labs; UT-STAR consulting services, such as statistical analyses, research design, data management, bioinformatics, etc.; REDCap); or
- I received training or funding through UT-STAR (e.g., Pilot Grant Awards Program, master’s degree certificate program, etc.).

UT-STAR relies on these citations as a critical performance measure when reporting annual productivity (publications) to NIH. Please bookmark this site for the NIH-approved citation text to be used in your manuscript.
If using REDCap for data collection and management, remember to cite it in your publication.
NIH Public Access Policy Reminder
All investigators receiving support from UT-STAR must submit or have submitted for them to PubMed Central an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts upon acceptance for publication, to be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the official date of publication.
