- Interdepartmental Requisition (IDR): Internal department payments

Can I take / attend a course without being admitted in a program?
Yes, as long as you are affiliated with UT Southwestern or one of our affiliated institutions. Please contact Amy Mackenroth for requirements and instructions.
When does the semester begin?

How long is the program?
The required number of hours and estimated length of time in each program can vary, but general guidelines are associated with each degree plan in the graduate school.
Will my prior course credits transfer?
Potentially. Prior course work is evaluated on an individual basis by the program directors, mentors, and counselors. Criteria affecting acceptance of prior course work may include: when the prior course was taken; grade received; program and/or course relevance. Official transcripts are required in order to waive program requirements.

Are there a maximum number of course credits I can take per semester?
All faculty members are limited to six credit hours during the fall and spring semesters and four hours during the summer semester. Additional limits may apply, please the program staff for additional information.
