occasionally, patients are referred to faculty at uT Southwestern or are identified in our clinic and in-patient populations who appear to have newly described syndromes or a subset of already described disease processes, unique responses to drugs, etc. it is often desirable to assess these patients in greater detail; however, such assessment cannot always be deemed as part of the patient's routine care, and therefore, may be difficult to justify in a ward setting. The Clinical and Translational Research Center provides a unique and appropriate forum for further investigation of such patients. However, to be admitted to the CTRC, a patient must be assigned to an already defined and approved experimental protocol. occasionally, appropriate protocols do not exist. if this occurs, further investigation of the patient requires generating specific protocol for that patient de novo.

Participant Eligibility

Patients who appear to have unique features in need of more detailed characterization.
