Association between Renal Transplant Graft Survival and Additional Insurance Coverage
Summary
This is an retrospective chart reveiw study of patients at Parkland Hospital that are recipients of deceased donor renal transplants completed between 2000 and 2011. This study is being done to study to hypothesis that an association between Parkland Health Plus Coverage and deceased donor renal graft survival exists. Patient study records will be reviewed for evidence of renal graft failure. The charts will also be reveiwed for evidence of medication compliance, length of time prior to transplant listing and length of time on dialysis prior to transplantation.
Participant Eligibility
Recipients of deceased donor renal transplants completed at Parkland Memorial Hospital between 2000 and 2011. Subjects will be 18 years of age or older. Subjects must have been followed after transplantation by the Department of Nephrology at Parkland Memorial Hospital for a minimum of 1 year. Subjects who are primarily insured by Medicare or Medicaid and may have additional coverage through Parkland Health Plus.
