Risk Factors for Peer Contagion of Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Among Adolescents
This study proposes to collect one-time questionnaire data on adolescents who present for treatment at either the outpatient Psychiatry Clinic or the inpatient Psychiatric unit at Children's Medical Center at Dallas. The study is projected to last 13 months. The child and one parent may complete paper and pencil questionnaires separately. Participation will take approximately 30 minutes for the child and 5 minutes for the parent, and includes only one assessment point. all efforts will be made to collect the study data at the time of the subject's visit. if for some reason all data is not collected during this visit, we will send the remaining questionnaires and a pre-addressed envelope home with the subject to mail in when they are completed. Subjects' charts will be reviewed for diagnostic information and psychiatric history. Lian Zhu and Sarah ezzell will complete data analysis.
