Glucose-Insulin Clamps

A glucose-insulin clamp measures insulin sensitivity, tests hypoglycemic counter-regulation, or assess beta-cell secretory function.

Estimated time frame for results ranges from 2 weeks to 1 month.

Price is $300 per mouse per experimental period and $50 per tissue collected. The Core will provide the investigator with the radioactive glucose uptake information in an Excel spreadsheet.

Tissues available for collection are: heart, liver, fat, soleus, gastrocnemius, brain, hypothalmus, vastus lateralis, and kidney.
