RSS is a fast, effective and simple way to subscribe to UT Southwestern’s news. To have an RSS feed sent to your computer’s desktop, PDA or other wireless device, you will need to select an RSS reader (also referred to as an aggregator).
1. Choose and download an RSS reader (several readers require Microsoft’s .NET framework on your computer). A number of free and commercial readers are available, including Pluck and SharpReader.
2. Click on the orange RSS icon on our Latest News page. You will see a page displaying XML code. Copy and paste the URL (web address) into the Address Bar of your RSS reader.
3. Paste our RSS feed URL (http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/utsw/news/pressroom/utsouthwesternnewsrss.xml) into the “Add New Channel” or “Subscribe to Current Feed” section of the reader. The RSS feed will start to display and regularly update the headlines for you.
What is RSS?
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is an easy way to keep up with UT Southwestern news and information. An RSS feed contains headlines and links to news on our Web site. It works almost like a stock ticker - delivering exactly the information that you have subscribed to, eliminating the need to go out and check your favorite outlets for new information, because it is already delivered to your computer. In addition to RSS readers, RSS feeds can also be added to your Google, Yahoo or MSN homepage.
