Inpatient Dining
UT Southwestern Medical Center offers its patients a new and innovative approach to food service. At Your Request – Room Service Dining® is based on hotel room service, allowing patients to order what they want, when they want it, and is available at both UT Southwestern University Hospital - St. Paul and UT Southwestern University Hospital – Zale Lipshy.
Menus
The At Your Request – Room Service Dining® menus are available, bedside, in every room and patients are introduced to the service when they check in.
Ordering
Simply decide what you would like to order and dial extension 54000. You will be connected to specially-trained nutrition services personnel who will assist you in ordering. Each meal is individually prepared and delivered within 45 minutes.
Hours of Operation
Meals from the At Your Request menu can be ordered from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. After 7 p.m., pre-prepared meals such as sandwiches and salads are available in the Night Pantry and can be obtained by a nurse.
Dietary Restrictions
Built-in safeguards in the ordering software ensure each patient’s dietary restrictions and nutritional needs are adhered to with every order.
Visitors and Family
Visitors and family may order guest trays from At Your Request – Room Service Dining® by pre-paying at the cafeterias in either hospital. The cost is $12 and the tray will be delivered with the patient’s tray. Visitors and family are also welcome to visit one of UT Southwestern’s many dining locations.
