UT Southwestern research advances fight against kidney cancer

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s urologic cancer specialists are widely recognized for their dedication to the early detection and treatment of prostate and other forms of urologic cancer. They can provide the medical assistance patients need for the early detection of cancer. Our surgeons have also pioneered new laparoscopic techniques to effectively treat kidney cancer.

UT Southwestern’s physicians and researchers have access to the latest scientific findings and treatments for urologic cancer, including:

  • Bladder cancer
  • Kidney or renal cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Renal cancer
  • Testicular cancer
  • Other urological cancer (penile, urethral, adrenal, scrotal)

Some of the techniques in treating these cancers are cystectomy with continent diversion, laparoscopic surgery,  radiofrequency ablation of tumors either through the skin or laparoscopically, robotic surgery and others.
