According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, about 400,000 Americans have multiple sclerosis (MS) and about 200 people are diagnosed with the illness each week. UT Southwestern Medical Center physicians and specialists have the expertise needed to provide effective rehabilitation programs for individuals with MS, a disease involving the central nervous system.

After a comprehensive evaluation, physicians and rehabilitation specialists design an individual rehabilitation program based on the patient’s unique condition and medical history.

MS patients and their families play a major role in the success of rehabilitation. Please visit the Health Library to learn more about MS and related rehabilitation offered at UT Southwestern, including:

  • Assistive technology
  • Bladder dysfunction
  • Bowel dysfunction
  • Cognitive rehabilitation
  • Dysphagia (swallowing problems)
  • Pressure sores
  • Primary progressive MS
  • Progressive-relapsing MS
  • Relapsing-remitting MS
